Me as a therapist

My work as a counsellor and psychotherapist is grounded in the person‑centred approach and shaped by many years of experience working alongside adults facing a wide range of emotional and psychological difficulties. I bring a strong academic foundation in person‑centred counselling together with sustained clinical practice across private practice, community settings, and the third sector.

At the heart of my work is a commitment to offering a therapeutic relationship that feels safe, respectful, and genuine. I aim to create a space in which you feel able to explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences at your own pace, without judgement or pressure to change. I trust in each person’s capacity for growth and self‑understanding when the right relational conditions are present.

I regularly work with people experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, and relational difficulties. My approach is not about applying techniques or imposing solutions, but about working collaboratively to understand what you are living with and how it has shaped you. Therapy is tailored to your individual needs, experiences, and ways of making sense of the world.

Alongside my clinical practice, I remain actively engaged in professional development and academic work. This allows me to stay connected to current research while keeping my practice grounded in the lived realities of the people I work with. My aim is to offer support that feels thoughtful, attuned, and responsive, and that supports meaningful and lasting change rather than quick fixes.

Me as a supervisor

My work as a supervisor is grounded in the person‑centred approach and shaped by a strong commitment to reflective, ethical, and relational practice. I offer a supportive and thoughtful space for therapists, trainees, and trainers to explore their work with honesty, curiosity, and care.

I understand supervision as a collaborative relationship in which your experience and perspective are central. My aim is to create a space where uncertainties, challenges, and insights can be expressed openly and explored without judgment. Through a relationship rooted in empathy, authenticity, and mutual respect, supervision becomes a place not only for professional reflection but also for growth and sustainability.

I attend carefully to the complexity of therapeutic work, including the emotional impact of practice, ethical considerations, and the wider contexts in which therapists work. Rather than offering prescriptive answers, I aim to support you in developing your own reflective capacity, confidence, and ethical awareness in a way that honours your individual style, values, and stage of professional development.

At the heart of my supervision practice is respect for the unique wisdom each supervisee brings. I aim to foster a safe and trusting environment in which growth, resilience, and professional integrity can emerge, supporting both effective client care and your ongoing development as a practitioner.

My overall attitude

Building strong and meaningful relationships is central to my work. I believe that trust, authenticity, and respect are fundamental to effective counselling and supervision, and I aim to offer a space that feels open, containing, and welcoming. My approach is rooted in empathy and curiosity, with a commitment to meeting each person where they are, without judgement or expectation.

In my work with clients, I prioritise creating a therapeutic relationship in which you feel heard, valued, and able to engage actively with your own process. I aim to support individuals in developing greater self‑understanding, confidence, and agency, while honouring their lived experience and personal goals. Rather than directing change, I seek to support it emerging in ways that feel meaningful and sustainable.

I bring the same relational depth and care to my work as a supervisor. Supervision with me offers a reflective and collaborative space where therapists, trainers, and trainees can explore their practice with honesty and openness. Grounded in mutual respect and empathy, my supervision practice supports ethical awareness, professional reflection, and ongoing growth, while recognising the complexities and demands of therapeutic work.

Whether working with clients or supervisees, my intention is to walk alongside you with presence and care, supporting both wellbeing and development within a relationship that feels genuine, thoughtful, and responsive.
